Phulnakhara: At least 30 passengers were injured when a Bhubaneswar-bound private bus hit another from rear on National Highway-16 near Pratapnagari here Wednesday.
According to sources, the incident occurred when the driver of a private bus (OD 05 E 8395) applied the brake due to some reasons following which the other bus (OD 05 AA 6622) coming from the rear hit the first one. Both the buses sustained heavy damage.
Locals rescued the injured passengers and rushed them to SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) for treatment.
On being informed, Cuttack Sadar police reached the spot and seized the buses. However, the drivers of the vehicles managed to escape, police said.
