Jajpur: At least 30 persons were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck on NH-5 at Khairi near Badchana in Jajpur district in the wee hours Saturday.
The condition of a woman was stated to be critical.
All the injured were rushed to Badchana government hospital. The injured woman was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
According to reports, the bus was going to Cuttack from Kolkata when it collided with the truck that was carrying tomatoes, between 4 am and 5 am Saturday.
A portion of the truck was ripped off under the impact of the collision while the bus, whose front was severely damaged, was pushed off the road.
On being informed, police and fire brigade officials reached the spot.
