Puri: Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were adorned with Suna Besa (golden attire) at the sanctum sanctorum of Srimandir here on the occasion of Kartik Purnima Friday.
Around three lakh devotees from across the state visited the 12th century shrine to witness the Suna Besa ritual, said sources in the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
Puspalak servitors decorated the deities with golden ornaments and ritzy clothes at the sanctum sanctorum soon after the completion of Abakash ritual.
The three deities were decorated with headgears, earrings, necklaces and other ornaments. Lord Jagannath and his elder brother Lord Balabhadra were also decked up with their respective weapons.
