Cuttack: Four people, including a three-year-old boy, of a tribal family sustained critical injuries after a wall of their house collapsed at Talabasta village under Banki tehsil in this district Wednesday night.
The injured were identified as Basanta Majhi, his sons Upendra Majhi, Jitendra Majhi and his three-year-old grandson.
The family members went to sleep after dinner. At about 1 am, the rain-soaked wall caved in on them.
All the injured were rushed to Banki hospital and were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital after their condition deteriorated.
The local residents have urged the government to provide financial support to the poor family.
“We are too poor to afford the treatment at SCB Medical College and hospital and repair cost of our damaged house. We request the government to provide some help to us,” said Upendra Majhi.
