Malkangiri: In a shocking incident, four journalists were held for their involvement in trafficking of contraband here in the district Friday.
The scribes were allegedly helping the contraband traffickers to transport the ganja to Punjab through the district. The police also seized a truck with 10 quintal of contraband.
According to sources, the four journalists were repeated offenders. They were allegedly facilitating the passage of a container truck in carrying the contraband from Andhra Pradesh to Punjab through the district.
Acting on a tip-off, the Balimela police intercepted the vehicle and made the seizure following which the arrest was made.
