4 teams emerge leaders

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Railways ‘A’ and ‘B’, Airport Authority of India (AAI) and PSPB are jointly sharing the top spot with seven points at the end of fourth round in the 36th National Team Chess Championships at KIIT Law College here Tuesday.
Railways A trounced Air India 3.5 to 0.5 on the first table, PSPB won 2.5 to 1.5 against Bihar B. In one of the major upsets in the day, Saurabh Anand of Bihar defeated GM Debashis Das after the PSPB player was a piece up. AAI beat TN 2.5 to 1.5 points with B Vignesh of TN scoring an upset win over IM Stany.
Railways B blanked LIC 4-0 with IM Ravi Teja beating GM Sriram Jha on the first board. Thirty six teams are vying for the coveted title in the nine rounds Swiss format having a cash prize of `2,00, 000.
Orissa pip Sikkim
Orissa scraped past Sikkim 2-1 in a match of the Santosh Trophy football tournament at Cuttack, Tuesday. Arjun Nayak opened the account for Orissa in the very first minute. Pankaj Sona doubled the lead in the 36th minute. Sikkim got one goal back in the 55th minute.
Sports Hostel win
Sports Hostel, Cuttack thrashed RK Football Academy 5-0 in the inaugural match of the Bachhan Memorial football tournament at Cuttack, Tuesday. Sports Hostel players dominated the match completely from the start giving the opposition hardly any chance.
Baseball tourney
Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Telangana, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand won their respective matches in the 26th Junior National Baseball Championship at the Kalinga Stadium here Tuesday.
Results: Maharashtra bt Uttar Pradesh 13-1, Chandigarh bt Bengal 10-0, Telangana bt Jharkhand 11-7, Delhi bt Bihar 10-0, Chhattisgarh bt Andhra Pradesh 3-2, Jharkhand bt West Bengal 3-2.
