Bhubaneswar, August 16: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday gave gallantry awards to 16 Orissa Police personnel for their exemplary services on the occasion of Independence Day.
Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra and CRPF Second Commandant Santosh Kumar Malla were among the officers who received gallantry awards during the Independence Day celebrations here.
“Three IPS officers – OHRC additional DG Manoj Chhabra, additional DG in the personnel department Debashish Panigrahi, and home department special secretary Lalit Das were given medals for their distinguished services. During the event, the Chief Minister also handed over medals to 22 Orissa Police personnel for their meritorious services. IG Southern range Amitabh Thakur, DIG Northern range Pratik Mohanty, DIG North-Central Jatindra Koel, Khurda SP Manoranjan Mohanty, and Bargarh DSP Jasobanta Senapati were among the officers who received the medals for meritorious services,” police said.
