Muniguda: Alleging irregularities in Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA), BJP observed a five-hour bandh at Muniguda in Rayagada Friday.
Hundreds of BJP workers along with district BJP president Shibashankar Ullaka and general secretary Ramchandra Behera staged a road blockade at Tinikonia chhak. Hundreds of trucks and buses and other vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road for hours.
The BJP leaders alleged that genuine farmers have not availed the benefits of KALIA while money was credited into accounts of State planning Board member Sudhir Das, MLA Jagannath Sarka and several other BJKD leaders.
The saffron leaders burnt an effigy of state planning board member Sudhir Das.
