Bhubaneswar: Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2017 was organised at 88 centres in 21 towns of the state Sunday. About 52,560 students appeared in the examination held to select candidates for admission into various undergraduate, postgraduate courses and lateral entry courses, barring MBBS and BDS in the state.
The examination was conducted in three sittings. The first sitting began at 9 am and continued till 11 am. The second sitting was held between 12 noon to 1 pm, while the third between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
The district collectors and SPs were directed to tighten the security at the centres and the examination was held under tight security everywhere.
Nevertheless, there was some ruckus at BJB Autonomous College Sunday after some students alleged that they were not allowed to appear for the exam citing lack of valid admit cards. The students sat near the gate of the college protesting against the decision of the authorities. Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
The results of OJEE exams held Sunday will be announced in first week of June. The successful candidates will be eligible for admission to courses like MBA, MCA, Pharmacy, Lateral Entry Engineering, BMM and BHMAS, OJEE president Tushar Nath informed.
