Subdega: Snake Helpline officials Sunday rescued as many as 54 cobras – both hatchlings and parents –along with 60 eggs from a house at Kurumakel village under Subdega block in Sundargarh district.
The matter came to light after a local, Binod Tapoo, spotted some snakes in a corridor of his house and informed other villagers. The villagers locked the room and alerted some snake catchers who reached the village and caught the reptiles.
More snakes are likely to be rescued as the rescue operation was on till the filing of this report.
