Bhubaneswar:As heat wave continues, eleven places in the state faced extreme temperature Monday . The weather office here recorded above 40 degree Celsius during day, while Titilagarh in western Odisha remained the hottest place.
Weatherman said Titilagarh recorded 44.8 degree C followed by Sonepur and Jharsuguda at 44 degree C and at 43.8 degree C respectively. The other places facing high heat conditions were Malkangiri, Bolangir, Bhawanipatna, Talcher, Hirakud, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Angul.
People mostly stayed indoors after10am. Markets and roads wore a deserted look.
While the maximum temperature at Sonepur was 44 degree C, Malkangiri 41.4, Bolangir 43.5, Bhawanipatna 42.2, Talcher 41.6, Hirakud 42.1, Sundargarh 42.0, Sambalpur 43.0, Jharsuguda 43.8 and Angul 41.3 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, an alert against Nor’wester (locally known as Kalabaisakhi) has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Keonjhar districts.
