Berhampur: A seven year old boy of Sadananda Vihar here who went missing January 12 on way to school was found kidnapped and murdered by a kin, police said Tuesday.
The child was identified as Anshuman, son of Nirupama Acharya who lives in a rented house at Sadananda Vihar. The child was studying in class-1 at a private school
The woman lodged a complaint against her cousin at Gosaninugaon police station after her son did not returned home till long hours, IIC Kulamani Sethy said.
The matter came to fore after police detained a kin and started an investigation. He was brought over to the police station where police officials integrated him in this connection.
A scooty and the blood-stained shirt of the minor was seized from near Haldiapadar bridge while his school identity card from Chhatrapur Monday.
The incident occurred when the woman’s cousin took Anshuman on a scooty to drop him at school January 12.
When contacted, ASP Shantanu Das refused to elaborate as investigation is underway and would reveal the details in a press meet after the probe gets completed.
