Bhubaneswar: The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) will organise the seventh Odisha Tourism Conclave at Swosti Premium here October 23, official sources said Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference, HRAO Chairman JK Mohanty said the state needed to develop integrated tourism circuits, upgrade infrastructure and visitor facilities, strengthen domestic and international air connectivity, and expand hospitality education and skill development to realise its tourism potential.
HRAO will organise the seventh Odisha Tourism Conclave at Swosti Premium October 23 to deliberate on strategies for accelerating tourism-led growth, investment and employment generation, he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will inaugurate the conclave, which will feature focused panel discussions on emerging opportunities and challenges in the tourism sector.
On HRAO’s proposal for positioning Odisha as a “21-Night Tourism Destination”, Mohanty said it seeks to encourage visitors to explore destinations beyond the conventional Bhubaneswar-Puri-Konark circuit.
Odisha’s rich mix of spiritual heritage, Buddhist sites, ancient temples, wildlife, beaches, lakes, tribal culture, hand looms, handicrafts and cuisine offered considerable scope for longer holidays, he said
