Puri: A team of servitors participating in the Banajaga Yatra has spotted about 100 neem trees (daru) and shortlisted eight with all suitable attributes for carving of the presiding deities of Srimandir as part of the Nabakalebara festival. The team comprising Dalapati (team leader), Pati Mohapatra, Badagrahis and senior Daitapatis Saturday had set out for scrutiny of eight shortlisted trees out of which four will be chosen for carving the idols. On their return to Deuli Mutt, the servitors are expected to zero in on the four darus most suitable for making the idols after which the team leader will intimate the final selection to the Jagannath Temple Administration.
