Girls outshine boys in CBSE Class X exams

While 77099 examinees took the Class X examination in Bhubaneswar region, 68,828 candidates passed registering a success percentage of 89.27.

New Delhi: Four students topped the Class X CBSE examinations this year even as girls once again stole a march over boys.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class X board exam results today. The overall pass percentage was 86.70, it said. Girls, with a pass percentage of 88.67, did better than the boys, who registered a pass percentage of 85.32.
Four students – Prakhar Mittal of DPS Gurgaon, Rimzhim Agarwal of RP Public School, Bijnor, Nandini Garg of Scottish International School, Shamli and Sreelakshmi G of Bhavan’s Vidyalaya, Kochi – topped the exam with 499 marks out of 500, the board said.

Stiti Prajna Sahoo of DAV School, Chandrashekharpur, emergedOdisha topper with 99.2 per cent marks.

While seven students secured the second position with 498 marks, 14 students bagged the third spot with a score of 497.
The top three performing regions are – Thiruvananthapuram (pass percentage 99.60), Chennai (97.37) and Ajmer (91.86). Delhi recorded a pass percentage of 78.62.
As many as 1,31,493 candidates secured 90 per cent marks and above, while 27,426 candidates secured 95 per cent marks and above, the board said.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Tuesday announced Class X results at 1pm, three hours ahead of schedule on the official website cbseresults.nic.in.

The overall pass percentage was 86.70, with girls outshining boys by 3.35 per cent. Around 16 lakh students waited eagerly for their results after the declaration of Class XII results recently. While 77099 examinees took the Class X examination in Bhubaneswar region, 68,828 candidates passed registering a success percentage of 89.27.

For the first time this year, the CBSE class 10 results were available on the search page of Google at www.google.com as the Board has partnered with Google and Microsoft. The HRD Ministry had earlier announced that the results would be out by 4p.m.

The results are available at www.cbse.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.results.nic.in

Orissa POST checked the results of city-based schools and also elicited views of students who passed the examination with flying colours.

The Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium (BJEM) School set a record by showing a pass percentage of 100. As many as 72 students secured 90 per cent marks and above while 204 students are placed in the first division.

Aradhana Manaswini and Abhipsa Mohanty secured 99 per cent marks and became the school toppers jointly. Sachin Swain who secured 98.8 per cent stood second and Swabhiman Mallick and Neha Biswal secured third position with 98.4 per cent marks each. The chairman, manager and principal of the school congratulated the students for their success and thanked the teachers, staff and parents for their efforts.

About 261 students from DAV Public School, Unit-VIII passed in first class. All the 269 students of the school passed with an average of 86.26 per cent in aggregate marks. As many as 138 students secured above 90 per cent marks. Soumya Subhashree Sahoo has brought distinctive reputation to the school by securing first position with 98.8 per cent marks. Sohan Paikray has secured second position with 98.6 per cent and Swayam S Rout has secured the third position by scoring 98.4 per cent. Several students have secured 100 marks in Maths, Science, Social Science, Hindi & Sanskrit. School managing committee chairman Madan Mohan Panda and principal in-charge Mamta Banerje and former principal Bhagyabati Nayak have congratulated the students, parents and teachers.

At least 95 per cent of students of KIIT International School (KIIT-IS) have passed in first division and 30 per cent of them secured more than 90% marks. Asutosh Sahoo became the school topper by securing 97 per cent marks.

Mrunal Nanda and Puranjay Mohapatra secured 98.4 per cent marks to become the toppers in St Xavier’s High school. All the 122 students who took the examination passed in first division and maintained 100 per cent pass record of the school. At least 45 students have secured 90 per cent marks in the examination.

SAI International School has set a new benchmark with 48.3 per cent of students scoring above 90 per cent marks and 82.3 per cent of students scoring more than 75 per cent marks in the CBSE examination. Soumya Sudatta Nanda became the school topper with 97.8 per cent marks. Aditi Rout and Ananya Mahapatra shared the second place by securing 97.6 per cent marks, followed closely by Shruti Mishra (97.4 per cent) to get the third place. The average pass percentage of the school is 85.
