Bhubaneswar: Utkal Karate School (UKS) and the Orissa Rifle Association (ORA) began their second summer shooting camp at the UKS premises here Thursday. The camp will continue till 12. The first camp had been conducted May 1-5 at the same venue.
“Aspiring shooters over 12 years of age can participate in the camp. They can register their name directly at the UKS office for training,” stated UKS founder Hari Prasad Patnaik through a press release Thursday.
The third camp will start May 15.
Chess tourney
DAV Public School , Kalinga Nagar will organise the XIIIth State Schools’ Open Chess Championship, starting May 15 at the school premises, authorities announced, Thursday. It will be a seven-round Swiss format tournament and students from all parts of the state up to standard XII are eligible to participate in it. Prizes will be presented to players (overall) from first to 15 th position. Also the top five players from each category will get a prize, the organisers said.
