Ghantapada: The residents of Colonypada, Podapadar and Ghantapada market square area under Kantamal block in Boudh district are living without electricity for 90 hours after a transformer here was burned. The daily life of people has been affected as there was no replacement for the burnt transformer so far.
The lack of power supply has hit the operations of the Gramya Bank, medical stores, shops, Sahaj Jan Seva Kendras, etc.
Villagers cited the increase in the number of consumers for the frequent disruption in the functioning of transformers.
They demanded the installation of a 100KV transformer instead of the 63KV one.
According to reports, when the people asked the lineman about the new transformer, he said it would be installed in one or two days if the outstanding electricity bills were paid.
Some consumers plan to approach the court if the power supply was not restored in one or two days, sources added.
