Nuapada: Protesting against unscheduled power cuts, the people of Sinapali town in this district have organised an indefinite shutdown from Tuesday.
Businessmen, traders and shopkeepers joined the residents in observing the shutdown. Offices also remained shut. Vehicular movements came to a standstill as protesters staged demonstrations, picketing and road blockades in the town.
“The residents are having sleepless nights owing to extreme heat and irregularity in electricity supply for the past ten days. The agitation will continue till the situation changed for the better,” residents said.
