Bisoi: In a bizarre incident, a silly altercation between two brothers over a motorbike turned out to be a losing battle for the entire family, after the vehicle along with their house was reduced to ashes in a fire. The incident occurred at Kitabeda village Badasahi in Mayurbhanj district.
Locals said brothers Gobardhan Singh and Ranjan Singh entered into an argument over the motorbike. In a fit of rage, one of them set on fire the vehicle parked before their house.
While the fight progressed, no one attended to the fire. Flames caught and engulfed their three-room house, gutting it. “Before we could come with help, the flames engulfed the house,” locals on the spot said.
All household items, including electronic gadgets and important documents were gutted. The family was left without a roof or shade to cover themselves from the blazing Sun and the summer’s heat.
