Balangir: A mentally ill villager committed suicide by hanging from a tree in Bandhanpali village near Kantabanji in this district Tuesday. He was Giri Majhi of the same village, police said.
The deceased was suffering from a mental illness for the last 10 years. He went missing from his house last night and his family members failed to trace him. He was found dead in a nearby forest Tuesday morning by locals and was seen hanging from a tree.
Police sent the body for autopsy and registered a case of unnatural death.
