Konark: Police Thursday arrested the accused in the Gop school incident in which a minor girl was raped followed by an attempt to kill her. The accused Kartik Sahu, on the run for the past six days, was arrested from Singipania village.
The Class IV student had gone to a nearby market place. Sahu allegedly took her to the isolated premises of Jogeswar School in Puri district and raped her, as per the police case. He has also been accused of an attempt to kill her.
The girl was later found in a critical condition in the school premises. She was rushed to the Charichhak community health centre and then shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar as her condition deteriorated.
