Bhandaripokhari: A 12-year-old boy was feared drowned while taking bath in Baitarani River near Madhiali panchayat under this block in Bhadrak district Saturday morning.
A joint rescue operation was launched by the Korei fire tender team along with Bhandaripokhari fire tender officials, police and the locals.
Sources said the incident occurred while the boy along with his mother from Ghanshyampur village near Korei in Jajpur district went to Bhadrak. The mother-son took bath in the river after their trip.
Accidentally, the boy was pulled into the water. His mother tried to help him but her effort wasn’t successful. Though she managed to swim back to the shore, the boy went missing.
