Bhubaneswar: Around 40,000 students from across the state appear the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), the examination for admission into undergraduate MBBS and BDS courses being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Sunday.
NEET-2018 was conducted at 40 centres across the state, as per official sources.
The question paper was in different languages like Hindi, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada containing 180 objective type questions from physics, chemistry and biology (botany and zoology).
The duration of test was three hours – 10 am to 1 pm. Entry into examination hall started at 7.30 am and admit card checking was done till 9.40 am.
As per instructions, the students have been advised to carry admit cards while stationery items like textual materials, electronic gadgets, pen, scale, writing pad, pen were not allowed.
The CBSE had also asked the students to adhere to dress code – light clothes with half sleeves. Male candidates were asked to avoid dresses with big pockets, elaborate embroidery. Shoes were also not allowed.
Female candidates avoided clothes which have embroidery, flowers, brooches and buttons. Salwars and trousers were allowed along with slippers or sandals with low heels. Jewellery like earrings, ring, pendants, nose ring, necklace or any kind of metallic items were also forbidden.
According to the students, who appeared for the NEET 2018 exam, the question paper was easy to moderate so far as difficulty level is concerned. Most of the students felt that the paper turned out to be easy on them. They said that the content of the question paper was from the CBSE prescribed syllabus and from the NCERT textbooks. The results of the entrance will be declared June 5.
