Barang: Unidentified miscreants allegedly dropped two bombs at the house of Antaryami Rout at Raghunathpur here in Nandankanan police limits late Sunday night.
While one bomb went off, another remained unexploded. Sources said the bombs fell on the balcony of Rout’s two-storey building. While no one was hurt in the explosion, a car parked outside his house suffered minor damage. Upon being informed, Nandankanan police rushed to the house and recovered the live bomb. Rout said his family members woke up to a loud noise Sunday night after the bombs were hurled.
“We saw a bike a few metres away from our house. We do not have any enmity with anyone. My son had a commotion with a man during Holi this year and we had intimated the police about it,” he added. Inspector-in-charge Rabindra Meher said the bombing is suspected to be fallout of a family dispute. “We are examining footage of CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas and inquiry is underway,” he said.
