Nayagarh/Ranpur: A video of a policeman of Ranpur police station in Nayagarh district showing antics after taking food in an eatery and not making payment has gone viral on social media Wednesday.
He was a sub-inspector of Ranpur police limits. The video drew flak from locals who condemned the behavior of the cop and demanded his suspension.
In the video, the SI is seen entering a fast food joint and demanding food. After eating his food, he tries to sneak away without making any payment. When the vendor asks for money, the cop is seen threatening him. When locals intervene and ask the cop to pay, he starts yelling at them.
Someone in the group recorded the whole act on his mobile phone and uploaded it on social media in no time.
When contacted, Ranpur IIC Girija Shankar Rath said he had not received any complaint in this regard. “We will launch a probe into the matter and take action accordingly,” he added.
