Baripada: In a shocking incident, a father killed his 10-year-old daughter by slitting her throat Wednesday night. The incident was reported from Gobardhanshola village near here, in Mayurbhanj district. The father was Sania Dehury.
First reports said Sania tied his minor daughter following a family fight and killed her by slitting her throat. Police reached the spot Thursday morning. Sania tried to attack the cops as also the villagers who crowded around the house with bow and arrow. He was overpowered and arrested.
“The reason behind the killing is yet to be ascertained. After registering a case, the body has been sent for post-mortem. Investigation is on,” police said.
