Bhubaneswar: Four youths have been detained by Chandrasekharpur police for allegedly recording and sharing obscene videos of a girl on the social media Monday morning.
Out of the four, two were held Monday while the remaining two were held Tuesday.
According to sources, some working girls have been staying at a rented accommodation in Mangala Basti near Lumbini Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police station.
Monday morning, when one of the girls was taking bath in the bathroom, a youth allegedly shot her video on a smartphone, through a hole on the asbestos roof over the bathroom.
He soon got off the roof after being noticed by the girl and shared the video with his friends on social media.
Later, the victim girl filed a complaint with the police in this regard.
Sources said the accused youths are working under a gangster of the area who allegedly has close links with political leaders. It is also alleged that police have been lenient against the accused fearing wrath of political leaders.
