Jharsuguda: In a shocking incident, a drunken man allegedly thrashed his five-year-old son to death at Bhursimala village under Laikera police limits in this district Wednesday night and fled the scene after the incident, reports said.
The deceased was identified as Subham, the son of accused Dinesh Nayak, a resident of Bhursimala village.
According to a complaint lodged with the police by Dinesh’s father Pradip Nayak, his son after returning home in an inebriated condition scolded and thrashed everyone in the family Wednesday night. He even did not spare his son who sustained deep injuries on his head.
The boy had been rushed to Laikera hospital in a critical condition. Later, he was shifted to the district headquarters hospital, where he was declared received dead at 1.00 am.
The police have launched a probe into the incident.
