Balasore: A differently-abled youth was detained for allegedly stealing a passenger bus in Balasore district Monday night.
According to reports, the youth, hailing from Jagatsinghpur district, opened the lock of the bus ‘Hadeswar’ parked at Balasore bus stand by using duplicate keys and drove the vehicle towards Cuttack.
He was, however, intercepted near Sergarh by the toll gate employees who asked him for road tax. When he declined to pay the money and picked up an argument with the employees, they called up the police.
A team from Khantapara police station rushed to the spot and detained the youth. The police later came to know that the accused is differently-abled as he failed to answer any questions during interrogation.
The vehicle has been seized and efforts are on to ascertain the whereabouts of the person, police said.
