Aska: Police Monday arrested a youth of Gunthapada village under Aska police limits in Ganjam district on the charge of circulating obscene pictures of a woman on social media. He was identified as Ranjan Badatiya.
Ranjan was in a relationship with the woman. He had taken screenshots during their video calls. Over some reason, he circulated the screenshots with his friends that soon went viral on social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp.
After coming to know of the matter, the woman lodged a police complaint. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Ranjan. Case was registered under IT Act and Ranjan was produced in a court.
The accused was remanded in judicial custody after the court rejected his bail plea, IIC Santosh Kumar Jena said.
