Bhubaneswar: Big Bazaar, one of India’s leading hypermarket chains run by Future Group, increased its presence in the state capital by launching its fourth store at Esplanade One shopping mall, Thursday.
The other three stores in the city are located at Maruti Mall in Patia, Kharvel Nagar and Krishna Plaza in Nayapalli.
Spread across a spacious 28,227 sq ft, the new store is designed on the mall’s ground floor.
The store is divided into sections – clothing, home furnishing items, personal care products and the food section.
The clothing department showcases fashion for women, men and kids and features a wide range of Western and ethnic wear from various brands. On the other hand, the home furnishing items and personal care products also feature leading national and global brands. A large area of the store has been dedicated to food, staples, groceries, vegetables, fruits and other such products.
Big Bazaar promises ‘Har Din Lowest Price’ proposition, wherein it offers substantial discounts on over 1,500 daily-use items. At the new store, city residents can also participate in Big Bazaar’s offers like Sabse Saste Din, Wednesday Bazaar and Public Holiday Sale among several others.
Speaking on the launch occasion, Big Bazaar (East) CEO, Manish Agarwal, said, “We started serving the people of Bhubaneswar with the opening of our first store in 2004. Since then, we have been growing and this has been possible owing to the support that received from the citizens.” He added that with the launch of the new store, they are well placed all over the city, making it easier for consumers to visit their nearby Big Bazaar store. Agarwal also mentioned that Big Bazaar has always cared to provide employment opportunities to the people of the state, adding, “Around 200 employees are working in this new store to satisfy our customers.”
People can also be a part of Big Bazaar’s ‘Profit Club’ family, a kind of membership, where one would be required to deposit Rs 10,000 and shop for Rs 1,000 per month for the next 12 months. The membership card can be used in over 280 Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar and fbb (fashion) stores across the country.
Customers can also avail benefits of Big Bazaar’s Future Pay mobile-wallet for shopping across Future Group stores at over 1,000 Future Group stores including Big Bazaar, fbb, E-zone, HyperCity, Central, Easyday Club, Heritage, Nilgiris and Brand Factory. Presently, Future Pay has over 50,00,000 registered users.
