Aska: At least 20 kanwariyas were injured after a pick-up van carrying them overturned on Aska-Sorada road near Dhaugaon village under Dharakote police limits in Ganjam district Sunday noon.
The injured were rescued by locals and admitted to Aska sub-divisional hospital. However, the condition of five of them – Bulu Gouda, Balram Bhuiyan, Arjun Kanhar, Basant Kumar Bhuiyan and Ganesh Chandra Pradhan was critical and they were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
According to sources, the devotees were on their way to Rushikulya to collect water when the incident occurred. Police seized the vehicle and launched a probe.
