Cuttack: Vigilance sleuths arrested a senior clerk at the office of the executive engineer, (R&B) Division-II at OMP square here Monday for amassing property disproportionate to his known source of income.
The accused, Prasanta Kumar Mohapatra, was later forwarded to the Vigilance Special Judge Court here. Sources said further investigation into the case is on.
In March, 2016, officials of the anti-corruption wing had simultaneously searched his office, residential house at CDA here, a single storied residential building and a commercial building in Dhenkanal and his relative’s house.
During investigation, Mohapatra was found in possession of assets worth over Rs 1.06 crore in his and his family members’ names.
