Paradip: At least nine wagons of a goods train derailed at Bauriapalanda near Rangiagarh station in this port town in Jagatsinghpur district at about 10 am Thursday. No major damage or casualty has been reported.
The loaded coals were dumped on the side of the track.

The port traffic and Railway officials rushed to the spot and RPF and GRP officials conducted an investigation.
Initial reports indicated that the mishap occurred during an attempt of coal theft.
Notably, an IFFCO fertilizer loaded train met an accident at the same spot last June. While the fertilizer loaded train was stationary on the tracks, a coal-carrying train rammed into it from the rear, injuring 32 workers.
