Cuttack: In a major jolt for notorious gangster Sushant Dhal Samanta, the Cuttack CJM Court Monday awarded him five-year jail term for involvement in two different cases lodged at Bidanasi police station.
According to sources, the court slapped three years imprisonment to Sushant for illegal possession of firearms and two years jail for unlawful use of the firearms. Besides, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on him.
Notably, Sushant had opened fire at a police in Bidanasi area in 1999 and was also involved in several criminal activities including tender fixing in Kendrapara district.
