Cuttack: Chauliaganj Club rode on a hat-trick by Ramesh Murmu (39th, 50th, 53rd) to register an emphatic 4-0 victory over Odisha Government Press (OGP) in a match of the FAO 1st Division football league here at the Barabati Stadium, Tuesday. The other goal was scored by Shyam Sundar Soren (31st).
In another match played on the day, Rising Star Club thrashed Mangala Club 4-0 at the same venue. Sanjit Khora (11th and 18th) scored a brace while Rajak Nag (34th) and Anik Das (79th) netted once each for the winning team.

Odisha U-19 cricketer Rajesh Mohanty has been selected in the India U-19 team for the Asia Cup starting Wednesday in Dhaka, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) announced in a statement Tuesday. Rajesh also has also been included in the India U-19 A team that will play the Quadrangular One-day series in Lucknow, September 12 to 18. The other three teams in the four-nation tournament are India U-19 B, Nepal U-19 and Afghanistan U-19.
Basketball tourney
The inaugural edition of Barrister Ranjit Mohanty Memorial Twin City Inter-College and University basketball tournament for boys’ and girls’ started Tuesday at the Barabati Stadium here. In the boy’s segment 18 teams are vying for top honours while nine teams are in contention for the girls’ title.
