Khaira: A woman died while she was going to perform the puja of her son’s brand new two-wheeler at Gandibeda-based Baba Lankeswar Temple near Digitentuli village under Khaira police limits in Balasore district.
The youth was identified as Benudhar Panda.
According to sources, Benudhar had Monday bought a new bike. So, he called his mother Gayatri Panda to take the vehicle to a temple and perform puja.
Benudhar rode the bike while his mother Gayatri was sitting pillion and was very happy that her son had brought a new bike.
However, their happiness turned tragic after another bike hit them from behind while they were going to the temple. Gayatri was thrown onto the road o the impact of the collision and sustained serious injuries.
She was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment. The incident spread a pall of gloom in the area as the new bike was also damaged.
Do away with the new bike, Benudhar had to lose his mother for the bike.
