Bhubaneswar: Sainik School entered the final of the Inter-School football tournament after scripting a convincing 3-1 victory over Mothers Public School (MPS) at the Unit-VI High School Ground here, Thursday.
Sohan Dandapata (fourth) scored the first goal of the match for MPS. However, man of the match Satyendra Roy restored parity in the 17th minute for Sainik School after which Amit Singh (43rd) converted a penalty to give his side the lead. Sivam Raj (81st) then put the issue beyond doubt by giving Sainik School a two-goal cushion.
KISS will take on Unit-I High School in the second semifinal match Friday.
Chauliaganj win
Ramesh Murmu and Mahesh Singh scored a goal each as Chauliaganj Club defeated Town Club 2-0 in a match of the FAO 1st Division football league at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Thursday.
Ramesh gave Chauliaganj the lead in the third minute before Mahesh added the second in the 29th minute.
The other match of the day between State Bank of India and Lalbag Club ended in a goalless draw.

Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) announced Thursday a 20-members senior team of probables for the Vijay Hazare Trophy from September 19 to October 8. Sixty probables (boys and girls) for the football and futsal sides have been picked from a preparatory camp at the Hi Tech Medical College and Hospital Ground here Thursday for the 2019 Special Olympics in UAE. A total of 200 players from 19 states across the country attended the camp.
