Sambalpur: A youth was arrested on charges of attempting to rape his relative aunt. The heinous incident was reported from Kadalipitha village under Katarbaga police limits in Sambalpur district.
A case was registered and the accused was produced in a court. He was then remanded in judicial custody after the court rejected his bail plea.
The accused has been identified as Doctor Khadia (24).
According to sources, the incident occurred when the victim had gone to take bath in a nearby canal. Meanwhile, Khadia, believed to be following her tried to rape her after finding her alone.
The victim lodged a complaint against the accused with Katarbaga police. Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused and conducted medical examination of the duo.
