Khaira: Irate guardians Monday detained a teacher of Jhinkiria primary school under this block in Balasore district for misbehaving with a Class V girl of the school.
Based on the allegations of the victim’s family, block education officer (BEO) Dharanidhar Patra placed the tainted teacher Damodar Mohanty on suspension the same day.
According to reports, Mohanty forced the girl to watch a porn video and touched her inappropriately September 11. Initially, the victim couldn’t disclose the matter due to social stigma. However, she later mustered courage and narrated her ordeal before the family Sunday and the school’s managing committee was informed about the incident.
Committee chairperson Anusaya Das along with members Rebati Biswal, Laxmidhar Biswal and many others Monday reached the school and detained the teacher inside a classroom.
Fearing that situation may go out of control, headmaster Ratha Sutar locked up the room from outside.
On the other hand, on being directed by district education officer, BEO suspended the teacher.
