Cuttack: Bodies of two minor children were found near Mahanadi’s Bhuasuni coast area here Thursday. The two children, identified as Debashish Behera, 8, and Manas Nayak, 12, of Krushak Nagar under Bidanasi police station, were missing since Tuesday.
Locals spotted the bodies in Thursday morning and alerted the Bidanasi police, who rushed to spot and informed the deceased’s families. Later, police sent the bodies to SCB Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem and seized their dress and shoes from the spot. A case of unnatural death (UD No.122/18) was registered in this connection.
According to sources, the victims were studying in Class II and V in a local government school. As their school was closed, they went to Krushak Nagar area, but didn’t return till late evening. Later Wednesday, family members of the victims lodged a missing complaint with the Bidanasi police.
