New Delhi: Following his resigning from the post of of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) general secretary, Koraput MLA Krishna Chandra Sagaria Friday met Congress Schedule Caste Cell chairman Nitin Raut here.
After the meeting, Sagaria said that they discussed strategy related to the development of the tribal belt and uplift of the Scheduled Caste people in the state.
“The focus will be on Schedule Caste people and the young and innovative minds in the tribal belt. We have discussed a strategy to bring them into the Congress hold to strengthen the party in the state ahead of forthcoming elections,” said Sagaria.
He also said that Nitin Raut has raised concern over his resignation from the OPCC general secretary post and told him that he should have consulted with senior party leaders in Delhi before taking the decision.
Sagaria further said that he will meet K Raju, former chairman of the party’s SC Cell and a close associate of Rahul Gandhi, Saturday.
