New Delhi: To celebrate 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, The Intellects, a social organisation will be organising a national history symposium “Gandhi @150’ focusing on Mahatama Gandhi’s life in Odisha at Gandhi Smriti, Rajghat here November 3-4.
According to the Intellects, symposium will have discussion on the life, thoughts and works of the Father of Nation.
“The colloquium will be a combination of an academic discussion by scholars from all over the world along with an exhibition displaying related contents of that period as well as a quiz competition amongst students of higher secondary level to spread awareness about Gandhisim among our future generation,” said Debendra Nath Rout, Chairman, The Intellects.
“A discussion focusing on Gandhi in Odisha will be held among eminent scholars to know how Odisha and Odias were close to the heart of Mahatma,” he added.
Rout further said that the symposium will include the participation of some of the most reputed Gandhian scholars from India and abroad. Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) and all eminent Gandhian institutions of India like Harijan Sevak Sangh, Gandhi Peace Foundation, Rashtriya Yuva Sanghathan, Odisha Gandhiwadi Forum and other government institutions are going to be part of this historical event.
