Bhawanipatna: A Kalahandi born US resident, Jeet Goel, has developed a mobile app for cricket named Cricdost, a report said Sunday.
Goel, born at Junagarh in Kalahandi district, moved to New Jersey where he launched a software company called Excel Corporation. The mobile app for cricket has been developed by a 50-member team of his Chennai branch office.
The app was designed by designer Shakti Bhel and technical manager Jeno Benitong who worked for two years with the team to develop the application. The app can be helpful for budding cricketers who do not come to the notice of the selectors.
The budding cricketers could upload the video footage of their batting and bowling skills in the app to draw the attention of selectors. This apart, a person with a smart phone could also watch national and international cricket matches live in the app.
The app will be later introduced in the cricket playing nations like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, England, Dubai, Australia and New Zealand, Goel said at the app’s launch ceremony where the logo of Cricdost was unveiled.
Among others, Jagmohan Patnaik, president of State Athletic Association, Subhasis Nayak, District Sports Officer, Sunil Behera, secretary of District Athletic Association, Sudhir Behera, Suren Agarwal and Asha Jain attended the function.
