Bhubaneswar: Hockey fans Thursday morning vandalized the ticket counter at gate no 9 of Kalinga Stadium after they failed to get tickets of the inaugural ceremony of the Hockey World Cup.
The fans were in the queue to avail tickets of the inaugural ceremony of the event, which will be attended by celebrities including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The fans that had been standing in queue for long hours got infuriated after the concerned authority put up a sign board announcing ‘No Ticket’.
Some fans alleged that the government is promoting the Hockey World Cup, scheduled to begin from November 28 at the Kalinga Stadium here, at the national and international level, but counters here are running short of tickets is a clear indication of mismanagement.
