Daringbadi: New Maoist posters opposing the ongoing anti-Naxal operations by the Centre were spotted at Simanbadi near Daringbadi in Kandhamal district Sunday.

The banners bearing the name of outlawed CPI (Maoist) have urged the people to observe ‘Pratibad Saptah’ (protest week) against the ‘Sangh Parivar’ till December 12. The ultras have also demanded to stop violence against tribal people.

According to reports, the posters were spotted at a pump house situated 200 metres away from Simanbadi Bazaar.

Similar Maoist posters were also spotted at Kirikuti and Patangi areas Thursday. Posters and banners were also found in various places of Koraput and Malkangiri districts last week, triggering panic among the locals.

Even as police have started patrolling the area, the frightened locals are shutting their doors after sunset, reports said.

Through the banners, the ultras urged the people to observe PLGA week to protest against ‘Khakee militants’ who are spreading hatred and violence through mob lynching in the name of ‘Go Raksha’ (Protection of cows).

They also appealed the locals to stand united against ‘Brahminical patriarchy’ and revolt against violence in the name of religion.

In the posters, the extremists stated that they are opposing ‘Padyatra’ by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Praveen Togadia over the construction of Ram Mandir. They urged the people to oppose the ideology of RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal.

In yet another incident, the ultras called upon youths to boycott elections and join them. The Maoists posters surfaced at Malkangiri’s Swabhiman area Thursday.

These posters were found at Panasput, Jagamba, Antrapalli and other places seeking support from tribal youths to keep fighting for their rights.

They also urged the youths to act against police atrocities and destroy the anti-Naxal people’s force.

The ultras have also asked the youths to join the revolutionary outfit to usher in new democracy in the society.

Notably, Maoist poster had surfaced at Simanbadi area in September, 2017 for the first time.

In the posters, the Maoists protested against exploitation of tribals, illicit liquor trade, negligence towards economically backward communities and corruption.

The poster was issued by the Bansadhara-Ghumusara-Nagavali(BGN) Division Committee of the banned CPI (Maoist) organisation.
