Bhubaneswar: In a shocking turn of events, miscreants hurled a series of bombs on houses in Patharbandha slum here in the Capital city under Shaheed Nagar police limits Tuesday.
After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and launched a probe. While no exact reason behind the attack was known immediately, preliminary probe revealed the probe was over previous enmity.
However, no casualty has been reported in the attack.
According to the eye-witnesses, as many as four miscreants on bikes came into the slum at around 11 am in the morning.
Before the residents could understand anything, the youths began hurling bombs one after another at the houses. The residents alleged that a youth identified as Prakash, whose parents also reside in the slum, is the mastermind behind the crime as he had gotten into an altercation with the slum residents a few days back.
Locals suspected, Prakash might have hurled the bombs with the help of his friends to avenge the altercation with the residents.
While no injuries have been reported yet, police reached the spot on intimation and began a probe into the matter.
