Paradip: Two relatives were killed after an oil tanker hit their motorcycle at Neelachal market square on Paradip-Chandikhole National Highway in Jagatsinghpur district Wednesday evening.
The deceased were identified as Basudeb Sahoo (40) and his cousin brother Gania Sahoo (35) of Gandakipur village near Kujang.
Locals immediately rushed the duo to Biju Memorial Hospital in Paradip where the doctors declared them received dead.
According to reports, Basudeb and Gania were on their way to their newlywed sister’s house at Subala village near Marshaghai in Kendrapara district on a bike. It was between 7.30 pm to 8 pm
When they were crossing the Neelachal market square at 8 pm a speeding oil tanker heading from Chandikhole towards Paradip hit them and dragged them along with their bike a few yards. The oil tanker fled the scene after the incident.
