Parjang: Tension prevailed here after miscreants vandalised a bust of BR Ambedkar in front of the Parjang block office in Dhenkanal district Sunday.
The incident triggered resentment among the people and Dalit outfits in the area. The bust was recently installed by the Anchalik Dalit Seva Sangha opposite the block office. Outfit members Kartik Nayak, Rathi Nayak and Ajay Mallik alleged that some people have willfully vandalised the statue.
Police started an investigation after outfit president Kedar Nayak and secretary Sadanand Mallik lodged a complaint in police station.
