Bhubaneswar, April 6: The e-valuation of Plus II answer scripts could not begin on the first day in the state. The organisers had planned to allot at least five sheets to each examiners to evaluate on the first day.
The e-valuation process of Plus II answer scripts was marked by the presence of 75 per cent examiners, but they could not assess a single answer script electronically. Instead, they were put on two more days of training before going in for the real e-valuation.
“The turning on of such a huge number of examiners was beyond expectation, but we have to boost their morale to the extent before putting them into the real job. They were given dummy answer sheets today to evaluate. The training process will continue for another day after which the real process will begin,” said Basudev Chattoi, chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
The e-valuation will be implemented in five science subjects such as physics, chemistry, zoology, botany and mathematics. Nearly 4,000 examiners have been appointed to accomplish the e-valuation process at 28 centres across the state.
“Four thousands examiners were drafted for the e-valuation process. They were trained and the current one will be their final phase after which we will decide whom to appoint for the job,” said Chattoi.
The chairman also informed Orissa POST nearly 4.20 lakh answer scripts will be evaluated in the process which will be completed by April 20.
Meanwhile, the state government has sought cooperation from all principals and zonal supervisors for smooth conduct of the evaluation process to publish the result in time and also warned of action for flouting the norms.
“I request all the principals to relieve their teachers, who have been assigned with the valuation work and help the CHSE publish the results at the earlliest. The zonal supervisors are authorised by the council to make local appointments against the absentees as reported by the end of the first day of valuation and report compliance to CHSE and the government for taking further course of action, as deemed fit under Examination Act, 1989.,” Higher education secretary GK Dhal wrote to the principals and zonal supervisors.
Arrangements were made at the centres to make the valuation comfortable for the examiners. There may be minor problems at the start of e-valuation in some centres, which should be sorted out at valuation centre with the help of service provider, Dhal said.
